Kristen has been a coach for almost 30 years. Her focus is on lifting up her coaching partners, inspiring them with their own expertise, knowledge, wisdom, and inherent gifts - no matter how long they have been in their jobs. When our coaching partners feel positive about what they can do--have a sense of agency, competence and self-esteem, things around them change for the better. From that point, they are motivated to make changes! They see what needs to be done, they do it, and they are open to receive feedback. It's a win-win.
Kristen has taught coaching for 25 years independently and taught "Coaching Early Childhood Professions" as a graduate/undergraduate class at the University of Colorado Denver since 2011. She was a special education preschool teacher for the public schools. She was a developer, trainer, and coach for the social and emotional curriculum ECE-CARES for 22 years. She worked for the Colorado Department of Education for 25 years, providing professional development, systems planning and change, and policy development focused on serving preschool children with special needs regarding inclusion, effective data collection, coaching, and teaming within schools, districts and BOCES. Kristen has a master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education with a specialty in multicultural families from the University of Colorado Denver.
